Пингвины и король - полчаса здорового смеха! Анимация, soundtrack - на достойном уровне. В целом, очень качественный мультик, практически на любого зрителя. На 2012-й запланирована третья часть.

Интересный сюжет, симпатичная Ольга Куриленко, великолепная актёрская игра Mark Wahlberg’а. Он - Max Payne. Не плохой soundtrack, красивые титры. Стрельба, анимация - не идеально. Мелочи. Главное - удалось создать атмосферу оригинальной игры.

В очередной раз убедился, что искреннее желание человека превыше всех внутренних и внешних факторов. Первыми сдаются не самые слабые - а самые незаинтересованные. Да, интерес - это переменная величина. В момент падения его необходимо стимулировать и развивать. Завязывать на нём своё время. Вкладывать.
Актуальная аналогия - сегодняшний кризис. Общество “потеряло интерес” и теперь государство “стимулирует” - инвестирует. Две ситуации - одна модель. Следовательно, предположим, что причина финансового кризиса - незаинтересованность общество в развитии экономики страны/мира в целом. Действительно, большинство сосредоточено на собственной прибыли. Помним, о чём Билл Гейтс предупреждал - нельзя забирать у общества и ничего не отдавать в замен. Не обманул?
В Ирландии осень начинается 1-го августа. А заканчивается 31-го декабря. Это официально.
На самом деле, всё намного сложнее, но речь не об этом. Интересен сам северо-американский термин: “fall”. В некотором смысле, он очень точно отражает атмосферу и настроения в период осени. “Падает” ритм жизни.
Здесь не нужен календарь - у осени свои знаки.

The smallest details are seen in contrast. Being o foreign student I have something to compare to and have noticed many. Endless discussions on the matter of education are held and proven themselves to be futile.
There is no perfect education system. Not the one I had at home, not the one I have today. Trying to compare in detail different education systems is impossible simply because of cultural differences and political backgrounds. But some things are fundamental. And I am afraid those fundamentals are becoming forgotten. The point of 2nd level education seems forgotten. “The exams” is the only motivation a teacher has for students. The students are held in a constant fear of failing, disappointing relatives and simply not getting the points. It seems that teachers promote the Idea of doing well on the exams than actually trying to interest the student in the subject. And to a simple question like “why are we learning this novel?” the simplest answer is “It is on the course”. It seems that the teachers themselves forgot why. And it seems that the only purpose of 2nd level education is getting into 3rd level. Such approach is disappointing at the least! I will take the three fundamental subjects as the example.
The point of English and Irish literature is to teach the simplest ideas of human dignity, honor, friendship and love, to raise the proper idea of human relations and respect, to teach the harsh lessons of life through life of others. It should be like vaccination against the deadly viruses of adult world. Yet it is narrowed down to a simple idea of whether the book is of negative or positive vision and comparing it to another text on basis of culture or religion or something completely irrelevant to the student as an individual. Such approach blindfolds students that never see the lessons to be learned.
Mathematics should promote intellect, the idea of being able to find a way to solve the problem yourself, to enjoy a challenge. Yet it is one of the most hated subjects. The reason why is that it seems there is no point of learning it except for points on the exams. It should be shown how to apply your mathematical knowledge to a simple every day life or possible future profession. To make students understand that only intellectual power gives a true freedom of choice. To teach them think and make decisions.
Irish language is just rejected by most young minds! No one sees the importance of it, no sense of cultural identity or pride for knowing one of the oldest European languages. I don’t learn it myself but I speak two languages. In the culture I am from language is seen as the soul of the nation. What keeps a nation together wherever they are. I could not agree more with that statement! While teachers will treat the subject as just another exam at the end of the day, the student will treat it as an unnecessary compulsion that “wrecks their head”.
True motivation to learn will never be an effectively substituted by the fear of failing. Only the time when the student will leave school with a feeling of that he will miss it, will be the time when he or she truly learned. No point of getting points if you felt that school was just a small bit of hell you have to get through. 3rd level won’t be any better then.
